Our Mission

Greening The Bend seeks to bolster a renaissance in South Bend by promoting green spaces and human-friendly urban features that protect water and our River as a precious natural resource.  This will result in social, economic, and environmental benefits for the Michiana area.  Our first project is a living "green" roof for the Potawatomi Conservatory that will absorb rain water to reduce storm water system loads, reduce cooling and heating costs, reduce the heat island effect, clear the air of particulates by providing a vegetative filter and protect the subroof of the building to decrease maintenance and replacement costs.

Check out our "Water Changes Everything" video, which premiered at our 2014 Rain Barrel Ball fund-raiser.
